Country boy meets country girl–sure sounds like a perfect match, but apparently, not for Jake Pavelka, who told single mom Ella Nolan it was time for her to leave Hollywood and giddyup on back to Dollywood on last week’s episode. Ella was one of four women ousted off on what was yet another shocking chapter of ‘The Bachelor.’ And indeed she was shocked herself, thrice over.
Talking to us on a conference call on Friday, the 31 year-old mom says she couldn’t believe Jake eliminated her over Kathryn and claims she didn’t know Kathryn had also gotten the boot until she watched the show last Monday. Last but not least, she was pretty surprised at the double elimination at the rose ceremony and whom Jake chose to pursue. “I kind of expected Jessie because I really didn’t think that they had had a chance to make a bond. But I thought that he had a great connection with Ashleigh, so to see him let her go that early over Corrie–I mean, I love Corrie to death–but I just didn’t think that they had a connection. So that was a big shock to me,” she admits.
Regardless of her short time on the show, Ella, who seemed the least catty and most grounded out of all the contestants, says she truly “loved all of the women,” had no regrets, and would do it all over again if she had the chance. However, she opens up about what may have kept Jake and her from making it to the altar. “I think that bringing my son out on our first one-on-one date, as great that that was for me to see him with my son, was also kind of a double-edged sword because we didn’t get to build a romantic connection.”
Out of all the ladies left on the show, Ella thinks ultimately Tenley is the best match for the Dallas cowboy and even proves somewhat sympathetic to the most divisive girl in the group, Vienna, calling her “misunderstood.”
Now that the cameras are off of her, the Tennessean says she’s back to focusing on her priorities: her son, her work, and her love life. In that order.
