“It’s not even just in my moment with Jake, but sort of throughout my adult life that I kind of have consistently put my career first, and not love first…I think maybe that’s why I’m single,” said ‘The Bachelor’s Ali Fedotowsky on a conference call with reporters last week. The 25-year-old bachelorette admits that although she absolutely loves her job, her experience with Jake has made her consider focusing on her love life more.
While Ali claims she ultimately has no regrets being on the show, she hasn’t enjoyed the ‘Bachelor’ backlash from the media and critics who question its authenticity. “It hurts me when I hear people say the show is fake, the feelings aren’t real. There’s no way ABC staged that…it’s not staged at all. They’re real feelings, real emotions. If I could cry that well, I should be an actress,” she says.
Besides her premature exit, Ali has also gotten some heat concerning her behavior towards Vienna Girardi. However, she reveals that other bachelorettes come to her defense on ‘The Women Tell All’ episode, airing tonight. “You don’t see the things that Vienna said that were really hurtful to me,” she says. Despite that, the San Francisco resident admits feeling awful about her negative exchanges with Vienna and wonders if she contributed to the negative media surrounding the 23 year-old.
But these heavy situations don’t outweigh the happy memories Ali takes away with her. One moment when all the girls were camping is particularly memorable: “We danced around the fire one night chanting, ‘Feel and eat; eat and feel,’ because all we did was eat and feel. So, that was a really funny moment for us,” she confesses. She also reveals how moved she was when Tenley Molzahn took her aside and said a prayer for the both of them, as they knew they were falling in love with the same man.
While Ali may have lost her chance at love because of her career, Gia Allemand wonders if she lost her opportunity because of her reticence. “I guess I was just scared under the situation to come out and say [I loved him]; I just kept waiting and holding off and hoping that I could just get it out and I didn’t,” confesses the swimsuit model.
However, she’s thankful for the journey saying “never in a million years” had she imagined how self-revealing the process would be and how much stronger her sense is in what she wants out of a relationship.
When asked about the pros and cons of the remaining contestants, Gia finds Tenley’s maturity an advantage, although she questions whether her heart is ready to take the plunge into another committed relationship. As for Vienna, she believes her readiness to marry is her strong point and says that she’s watched the young bachelorette evolve on the show. Since the New Yorker seemed to play the big sister role to Vienna from the start, it’s not a surprise that she hopes the Floridian wins Jake’s heart.
So what’s next for Gia? Would she entertain the idea of being the next ‘Bachelorette’? “I would definitely consider it,” she says. “It’s such an amazing experience, and I would love to ultimately find love and see how it is on the other end.”
